Why the Bombers?

Created around 1990, the Bombers are the brain child of Chris Routt and Nick South. The Bombers were orginally called the Blocher Blue Bombers. "Blue" was dropped shortly after and Blocher Bomber took it's place, usually as a nickname for fantasy football teams. In 1992, Blocher Bombers became the nickname for basketball teams that competed (and even won sometimes) in local tournaments. Today, Nick and Chris, along with Bomber mainstays Robert Jones and Mike Saylor, use the nickname for fantasy leagues, stat based computer leagues, real life tournaments/leagues and pretty much anything to do with sports. The nickname has even appeared in other webpages and chat room nicknames.

Bombers Today
Now the Bombers are a member of the Second American Basketball League. The SABL is a
20 draft league that uses Strat-o-matic's computer basketball game. League owners draft and trade for players, then assign strategy to the teams they have made. It's a lot of fun and worth checking out. Find out about strat games at http://www.strat-o-matic.
